FABBS Responds to NIH RFI on Common Fund Proposals

FABBS had the opportunity to respond to a recent RFI from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), calling for proposals for the Common Fund. In this response, FABBS directed attention to the Trans-NIH Research Opportunities in the Basic Behavioral and Social Sciences National Institutes of Health Council of Councils Working Group Report and the Integration of Behavioral and Social Science Research at NIH report. Additionally, FABBS identified four areas of bBSSR research that lack clear institute and center (IC) funding homes: maintaining behavior change, positive health processes, sciences of science, social interactions and influences on health. FABBS encouraged the Common Fund to invest in these areas.
