2022 Call for Nominations
This summer, FABBS will hold elections for open seats on the Board of Directors.
We are reaching out to request your assistance spreading the word about the opportunity to run for the FABBS Board and to invite nominations.
Two of the positions are for Members-at-Large with terms of three years. Terms for new board members would start on January 1, 2023.
The only requirement (under our bylaws) is that the scientist be a current member of one of our FABBS societies. We welcome diversity in every aspect, including but not limited to areas of behavioral and brain science (cognitive, social, bio, etc.), gender, ethnicity, geography, and career stage.
Desired characteristics of Board members include:
- General understanding of science policy and federal funding for our disciplines – at federal agencies, the administration and Capitol Hill
- Broad engagement with the behavioral and brain science community
- Effective fundraising and community engagement skills
- Willingness to devote time to the board
